Esperanza NeuroPeptide Newsletter December 2009

We hope that those of you in the UK are bearing up in the colder, damper weather! It is also a pleasure to welcome our new patients overseas including those from Spain, South Africa, India and South Amercia who do not have the British weather to contend with!

Esperanza's exclusive high dose D3 tablets help those of you in the UK to combat the effects of these sunless days: one tablet every other day gives your body the benefits of sunshine without the risks of direct sun.

We were delighted to see so many of you take advantage of our recent subsidy offer that was made possible by a legacy donation through our Foundation. As ever, we are very grateful for such generous donations and we will continue to pass on such gifts by way of reduced renewal prices to our existing patients. However, with the international financial crisis continuing, we do not foresee the same levels of generosity that we have seen over the past two years, but please rest assured that Esperanza will continue to work hard on raising such donations.

18 MONTHS OF DATA:

Mr Gerry Gallagher, Esperanza's CEO has asked me to pass onto you his THANKS for your cooperation over the last 18 months in our patient study by your assistance in our clinical tests. This has now enabled us to compile accurate data on over 150 patients. Our own analysis as I said in December's Newsletter showed very good results for our patients on the Neuropeptide with even Gerry pleasantly surprised at just how well our patients do on average. These results have now been passed to a specialist independent firm and we expect to have the final verified results back in the near future for publication.

NEWS AND TIPS FROM THE CLINICS AND DARLINGTON HELPDESK:

How healthy is your DIET?

The importance of good nutrition can not be underestimated for MS patients. Regularly patients report back to us significant improvement in their health once they adopt a better balanced diet.

Esperanza are happy to recommend the book by Dr Jan de Vries "New Developments for MS Sufferers" which contains both good general advice and also many simple healthy recipes and diet tips for MS patients.
(ISBN = 1-84018-464-7 from Mainstream Publishing, only £5.99)

Do you drink enough water?

By drinking several glasses of water a day you help your body to get rid of toxins which if not washed out of your body will impair its physical performance. So that you do not end up needing the toilet too frequently during the night, we recommend that you have taken your 4 to 6 glasses of water by late afternoon.

Follow up clinics:

Esperanza continue to offer FREE follow up clinics where possible, this depends upon which regional clinics are running each month. Now that we have completed the 18 month study, we would like to see you before you come to the end of your current treatment.

Please remember that the Darlington clinic is available most days should you want a follow up to suit your diary or at short notice. We are just next to the A1, the main East Coast railway line and Tees Valley airport. We can collect you from the airport or the railway station. You must of course please make an appointment in advance as both of the Darlington based physicians could be away at other clinics. If you are driving our address is: 1 Blackwell Lane, Darlington, DL7 8RH.

Regular Exercise:

Please either do a little exercise each day, or alternate a busier exercise day with a rest day. It is easy for a person with MS to keep their muscles in a state of fatigue by doing too much day after day. People holding down a job as well as taking additional exercise at home need to be careful not to do too much. You can phone me at the Darlington office to discuss your personal exercise program.

On behalf of all Esperanza's executives, doctors, practitioners and staff, I wish you all the best for 2010!
