neuropeptide (noor’o pep’tïd’) - simply refers to a peptide chain that has a function in the central or peripheral nervous system. Neuropeptides transmit signals and can act as neurotransmitters or neuromodulators and they are able to cause other neurotransmitters to start or resume signals.

Gerry Gallagher awarded Fellowship status at the Royal Society of Medicine.
At a recent meeting of the Membership Services Committee of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), Gerard J. (Gerry) Gallagher, Chief Executive Officer of Esperanza Peptide and The Esperanza Research Foundation was offered and has accepted a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Medicine.
The Royal Society of Medicine is an independent, apolitical organisation, founded over 200 years ago and headquartered in London.
One of the key goals of the RSM is to promote an exchange of information and ideas on the science, practice and organisation of medicine, both within the health professions and with responsible and informed public opinion.
Upon receiving notification and invitation of his eligibility for Fellowship in the RSM Gerry Gallagher stated the following:
"It is indeed an honour to be asked to consider a Fellowship role in the Royal Society of Medicine and I am delighted to accept this new and prestigious title. The aims and goals of the RSM are identical to those of myself and The work of Esperanza NeuroPeptide and The Esperanza Research Foundation. I look forward to a lifelong association with the RSM and to working to promote and expand the mandates of quality and ethical medicine worldwide"
